I was born in the Parish of St. George, the countryside, on the small Caribbean Island of Barbados. I have vivid memories of my mom combining different types of leaves that she had picked from trees and vines in the yard. There was olive bush, sugar apple leaf, pear leaf, aloe, ginger root, dried orange peel and numerous others. She would steep these concoctions and make “Bush Tea” for me to drink. This mixture usually worked because it cured everything from a runny nose to a tummy ache. I have always had a fascination with herbs, flowers and spices. Now some odd years later, I still use some of the same products whose smells fascinated me and tantalized my senses.  Armed with over 20 years of experience as a professional makeup artist in the motion picture industry, a cosmetology and aesthetics license as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry and Psychology, I now want to share my experiences with others.

My grandfather, at the ripe young age of 104, still massages his skin with a concoction of homemade rubs, some of which include olive and coconut oils, to maintain the moisture in his skin and keep his youthful glow. He might also be sipping a shot or two of rum daily. I created my product line to marry my love of the fashion and beauty industry with my love of chemistry and the natural healing property of what our earth has to offer. Additionally, I want to share the history of a people, one that is rich with tenacity, perseverance, color and loads of “a soon cum” (sooner or later). My people are easy come easy go, typically living a more laid back lifestyle. The best way I know how to share this rich culture is through my love of what I know best: cosmetics.

I make my products in small batches with natural and organic ingredients, free of petrochemicals and preservatives.  I do not believe in testing on animals and I use the purest and freshest ingredients available to me.  All of my products are hypoallergenic, which means they are free of the most common irritants known to cause skin sensitivity.  However, since essential oils are potent, although natural, a highly allergic individual may experience slight sensitivity. All of my products are named after a region,flower, food or colloquial term that pertains to the unique life of the people of this region, encompassing African, Native French, Chinese, Dutch, Spanish   and English influences. Due to the handmade nature of my products, they may vary slightly in color, texture and small irregularities especially on the hand cut soaps. This does not affect the quality and performance of the product. Since this is a natural product, I recommend that you use it immediately.  To help preserve the shelf life, please store in a cool, dry place away from extreme heat and moisture.
